Illustrious Sirs, Members of the Divan, Nobles All,

Today, Wednesday, June 16, 2021 is the actual 100th Anniversary of the Khiva Shrine Building. Khiva needs a bit of updating in areas but still in mighty fine shape and condition for the shape it’s in!

To celebrate the 100th Anniversary, on August 1, 2021, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Khiva Shrine will host an “Open House” to the community and invite Amarillo and the surrounding areas to come visit Khiva Shrine and see what we do.

To help commemorate this truly historic event, we will be blocking off the street in front of Khiva to allow us to display some of their toys of the trade such as but not limited to:  Mini Vettes; Cycle Escort; the Khiva Fire Truck; a small putting green for the kids; Lubbock Karts; a short performance by our Oriental Band in costume; and appropriate items used by the Muleskinners in parades. Of course, we’d love to have participation by our Klowns as much as possible throughout the day.

Within reason, visiting children will be allowed to get pictures taken by their parents in Mini-Vettes, on the Fire Engine and ring the bell, sit in the Lubbock Karts for pictures; however, children will not be permitted to drive or start any of the vehicles.

We’re also asking that each Unit Room be made presentable, be open, and manned by a representative of that Unit to show off your rooms and answer questions to the public on what your unit does to support Khiva’s mission.

Soft drinks and prepared snacks will be provided to our guests, the Shriners and their Ladies.

We will need help from all the Units to make this a success and something to remember.

Yours in the Faith,
Ray Keller
